As of October 20, 2026: 30 marketplaces selling in France. Many of them also sell in other countries.

The largest marketplaces in France explained

Not every marketplace is open to every seller, and we do not connect every marketplace. Here is what you need to know about each one.

Kaufland.fr

Kaufland.fr

Connectable General

A broad marketplace for almost every category. The basic fee from €39.95 per month, excluding VAT, covers all Kaufland marketplaces together. In France you pay a commission of 7 to 16 percent per sale, depending on the category.1 Automatically translated product descriptions are not allowed.2

Leroy Merlin

Leroy Merlin

Connectable DIY, home and garden

The marketplace of the DIY chain, for tools, building materials, bathroom, lighting and garden. You ship orders to the customer's home yourself. Note that many DIY products fall under a French EPR scheme, so you need an IDU (see below).

Carrefour

Carrefour

Connectable General

The supermarket chain's marketplace adds to Carrefour's own range, from household and electronics to toys and garden. A good fit if you sell products for the whole family.

Amazon.fr

Beta, on request General

The best known marketplace in France. Our Amazon integration is in beta and available on request only. Get in touch if you want to join and we will check together whether your range is a good fit.

Cdiscount

Not connected by StoreLinkr General

One of the best known French marketplaces. You pay a subscription of €39.99 per month, excluding VAT, plus a standard commission of 15 percent on new products. The commission is charged on the sale price including VAT plus shipping costs.3 StoreLinkr does not connect Cdiscount at the moment.

ManoMano

Not connected by StoreLinkr DIY and garden

A specialist marketplace for DIY, tools and garden. StoreLinkr does not connect ManoMano. For DIY and garden in France you can connect Leroy Merlin, Castorama, Bricomarché, Jardiland and Truffaut.

Marketplaces in France by category

General marketplaces bring lots of visitors, but also lots of competition. A specialist marketplace has fewer sellers per product and customers who know what they want. So choose based on your range.

What do you need to sell in France?

Everything in FrenchFrench law requires French for the name, offer, presentation and instructions for use of products, and on invoices.4 Kaufland does not allow automatically translated descriptions.2
Producer responsibility and IDUIf your product falls under a French EPR scheme (such as packaging, electronics, furniture, textiles, toys or sports goods)5, you join an eco-organisation and receive a unique identifier (IDU) per scheme. You show that number in your terms of sale and on your website.6
Marketplaces ask for your IDUSince 1 January 2022, marketplaces carry producer responsibility for what is sold through them, unless they can show the seller already meets it.5 That is why they ask for your IDU.
Triman logo and sorting informationProducts under an EPR scheme that are meant for households carry the Triman logo with information on how to sort or drop off the waste. Glass beverage packaging is excluded.5
VAT through the One-Stop ShopOnce your sales to consumers in other EU countries exceed €10,000 a year in total, you charge French VAT. You can declare it for all countries at once through the One-Stop Shop (OSS).7
Product safety (GPSR)Your offer shows the manufacturer, a responsible person in the EU if the manufacturer is based outside it, and safety information. Without that data a marketplace must not show your offer.8
14-day right of withdrawalYour customer may cancel within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason. Return costs are only for the customer if you said so in advance.9
Shipping and customer servicePlan for French shipping rates, a return address your customer understands and customer service in French. Only promise delivery times you can really meet.

Mind your IDU: producers who do not register in the French EPR register, or do not show their unique identifier where required, risk an additional fine of up to €30,000.5 Sort this out before you list your first product in France.

This is not tax or legal advice. If you are unsure about VAT or registrations, ask your accountant.

How to start in 6 steps

  1. Pick 1 or 2 marketplacesStart with a general marketplace (Kaufland or Carrefour) and one specialist marketplace that fits your range, such as Leroy Merlin or Boulanger.
  2. Check which EPR schemes applyFind out which schemes your products and packaging fall under, join an eco-organisation and keep your IDU per scheme at hand. The marketplace will ask for it.
  3. Check your VATAdd up your sales to consumers in other EU countries. If you go over €10,000 a year, register for the One-Stop Shop.
  4. Translate your product data into FrenchTitles, descriptions, attributes and manuals in proper French. Have translations checked, especially for your best sellers.
  5. Complete GPSR and packaging dataEAN, manufacturer, responsible person in the EU, warnings and the Triman logo with sorting information. If anything is missing, your offer will not go live.
  6. Connect stock and ordersLet stock, prices and orders sync automatically with your online store, so you never sell what you do not have.

Looking for a place to sell your own things as a private person? Then you mean Leboncoin, the best known classifieds site in France. This page is about selling as an online store or brand: new products, fixed prices and orders that come in automatically.

Several marketplaces in France at once

Every marketplace has its own portal, its own categories and its own rules. With two marketplaces you can still manage by hand. From three on, stock becomes the real risk: if you sell the same product on a marketplace and in your own store, stock has to be right in both places straight away.

StoreLinkr takes products, stock and prices from your online store (WooCommerce, Shopify or SitePack), your POS system or your wholesaler, and puts them on the marketplaces you choose. Orders come back into your store. Per marketplace you set categories, price rules and exclusions.

Frequently asked questions about marketplaces in France

Amazon.fr and Cdiscount are the best known general marketplaces. On top of that many French retail chains run their own marketplace, such as Leroy Merlin, Carrefour, Boulanger and La Redoute. For an online store new to France, Kaufland.fr is often an easy start, especially if you already sell on another Kaufland marketplace.

Yes. French law requires French for the name, offer, presentation and instructions for use of products, and on invoices. Your listings, manuals and invoices should therefore always have a French version.

The identifiant unique (IDU) is your registration number under French extended producer responsibility (EPR). If your product or packaging falls under an EPR scheme, you get one through the eco-organisation you join. You show it in your terms of sale and on your website, and marketplaces ask for it.

Up to €10,000 a year in total sales to consumers in other EU countries, you can usually charge the VAT of your own country. Above that you charge French VAT, which you can declare through the One-Stop Shop (OSS) without registering in France.

No, we do not connect those two at the moment. Amazon is in beta, on request. You can connect 30 French marketplaces, including Kaufland, Leroy Merlin, Carrefour, Boulanger and La Redoute.

The Triman logo tells French consumers that a product is subject to sorting rules. It goes on household products under an EPR scheme, together with information on how to sort or drop off the waste. Glass beverage packaging is excluded.
