Marketplaces in Poland by category

General marketplaces bring lots of visitors, but also lots of competition. A specialist marketplace has fewer sellers per product and customers who know what they want. So choose based on your range.

What do you need to sell in Poland?

Listings in PolishTitles, descriptions and attributes in proper Polish. Kaufland does not allow automatically translated descriptions.2
Working in złotyKaufland charges the basic fee for Kaufland.pl in złoty.1 Allegro pays out to an account in złoty or to a Czech or Slovak bank.3 Allow for exchange costs in your prices.
VAT through the One-Stop ShopOnce your sales to consumers in other EU countries exceed €10,000 a year in total, you charge Polish VAT. The standard rate is 23 percent.6 You can declare it through the One-Stop Shop (OSS).7
Product safety (GPSR)Your offer shows the manufacturer, a responsible person in the EU if the manufacturer is based outside it, and safety information. Without that data a marketplace must not show your offer.8
14-day right of withdrawalYour customer may cancel within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason.9 On Allegro you set your returns and complaints terms before you start selling.3
BDO register for packagingIf you place products in packaging on the Polish market, you register in the BDO register. Importing into Poland also counts. Your BDO number goes on your invoices.4 Registration costs 200 zł for micro-enterprises and 800 zł for other businesses.5 Have your own situation checked.
Shipping and returnsAllegro asks for your delivery settings up front.3 Pick a carrier that serves Poland well and a return address your customer understands.

Since 12 August 2026 the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) applies. It requires producers who sell packaged products directly to consumers in another EU country to appoint an authorised representative there. The European Commission has proposed suspending that duty, but the proposal is still with Parliament and Council.10

This is not tax or legal advice. If you are unsure about VAT or registrations, ask your accountant.

How to start in 6 steps

  1. Pick 1 or 2 marketplacesStart with Allegro or Kaufland.pl and, if it fits your range, add one specialist marketplace.
  2. Set up your seller account and złotyCreate a business account, verify your bank account and decide how you handle złoty. For Allegro you also set your returns, complaints and delivery terms.
  3. Check your VAT and packagingAdd up your sales to consumers in other EU countries and register for the One-Stop Shop above €10,000 a year. Also check whether you need to be in the BDO register.
  4. Translate your product dataTitles, descriptions and attributes in proper Polish. Have translations checked, especially for your best sellers.
  5. Complete GPSR and product dataEAN, manufacturer, responsible person in the EU, warnings and manuals. If anything is missing, your offer will not go live.
  6. Connect stock and ordersLet stock, prices and orders sync automatically with your online store, so you never sell what you do not have.

Several marketplaces in Poland at once

Every marketplace has its own portal, its own categories and its own rules. With two marketplaces you can still manage by hand. From three on, stock becomes the real risk: if you sell the same product on a marketplace and in your own store, stock has to be right in both places straight away.

StoreLinkr takes products, stock and prices from your online store (WooCommerce, Shopify or SitePack), your POS system or your wholesaler, and puts them on the marketplaces you choose. Orders come back into your store. Per marketplace you set categories, price rules and exclusions.

That depends on the marketplace. Kaufland does not allow automatically translated descriptions. In any case, have your best sellers checked by someone who speaks Polish well.
